The state-of-the-art PULSE platform is an advanced, integrated, high-technology platform used for spinal cord, pituitary and other neurological surgeries. The platform integrates multiple technologies, improves workflow, reduces variability, and increases the reproducibility of surgical outcomes, overall resulting in better surgery. Being minimally disruptive to surrounding tissue, the technology reduces surgical times, minimises blood loss, and results in shorter hospital stays and a quicker return to normal activities. It features high-resolution imagery and a 25% reduction in radiation. St Vincent’s will be the first healthcare campus in Australia to secure this technology and the Cunningham Foundation grant, along with the contribution by the Sutton family, will ensure this objective is realised in the near future.
